Rolando’s latest how-to book unlocks many of the secrets other fine photographers are reluctant to share. Not only does he point out important rules on posing, he explains WHY those rules are important. Once you understand the principles behind posing (as well as cropping, angle, and other important elements) you can expect your work to improve dramatically, even when bending the rules for effect. This book will help you think like an artist – developing an eye for line of the body, S-curves, diagonals, negative space -all important. Rolando wisely pays attention to both the technical and human aspects to photography (your model is not a mannequin, after all) and while some may find his interpersonal tips a bit obvious, they all serve to illustrate that the devil is really in the details. Richly illustrated, as you expect from Rolando Gomez. A great addition to the “Rolando Gomez Trilogy!”

I have read a few of Rolando’s books. I have actually shot with a few of his favorite models. Rolando is good…no doubt. The book is well written and offers many points and tips for any photographer interested in Glamour or not. My thing about this book is that I’m not into this type of photography so I think that tainted my review to just 4 stars instead of 5. I just want to be honest!

As I have stated in numerous reviews, the price makes this book worth it. I have hundreds of dollars worth of Amherst Media books and it’s for a reason….they make EXCELLENT resource books for WHEN I want ideas or need them. I read them, critique them, implement numerous ideas, and put sticky notes on pages for future reference.

Definitely take a look at this book. You WILL like it!

If you are a fan of Rolando Gomez you will definitely like this book. It is a fine book and a compliment to his other titles. The main focus here is with very specific posing guidelines that go beyond the basics. Every body part is covered which helps to make this a very thorough book on the subject, not to mention factors such as body type, composition, and interacting with models to help bring out their best. As usual, the photographs are top notch. Highly recommended, a five star book.

Having Read Rolando other Glamour this book is a very good follow up.

I really like the WHY, behind what you need to do. To often photographers are doing things WRONG and don’t understand why. Rolando helps you with the concept. I used one of the techinques with slimming legs with a aspiring model right out of the book. I think of Rolando books as Glamour

receipes for the glamour photographer or those wanting to get into. One suggestion show more diversity in skin tones.
